Free? No thanks
If you think anything free is worth taking in, think again. Places like Craigslist and Freecycle can be great for finding things, but they can also be a depository of junk others no longer want or need. Not sure what I mean? Here are some pics of things currently being offered in the free section:
Lots of things being given away don’t work or are in such poor condition that it would be almost impossible to fix them. Examples include burned TVs, broken furniture and stained couches. Not only are some of these things impossible to fix, but some could be a health hazard. Before you pick up something, make sure you can use it. Taking on things you have no use for will not only take up valuable space in your home but it can also end up costing you money: some cities only allow you to discard large items for free once a month or less. If you take on something free and then decide you don’t want it, you may end up having to pay for pick up. So make sure you know what you’re getting before you sign up for it.

Many times, free stuff is not worth the trouble. I sometimes put things by the curb that I do not want and within an hour they are gone. Easier than trying to find someone else to take it.
